I have been making sculpture pieces since the early 1980's for personal pleasure and gifts to family. The urge to produce work came partly from a response to nature and partly from a need for an 'antidote' to the more precise engineering design I did for a living. I sold my first sculpture in 2007. Skills acquired in the day job have a direct impact on my work now, as all modelling, moulding, casting and patination of bronze is my own.
Leaving my corporate employment in early 2016 was a risky move, but one which allows more time to pursue creative ideas and really live my working day instead of just getting through it. I hope to realise more of the forms and images I have in mind, and learn to express them more effectively.
