Richard Thackham initially embarked on a career in graphic design.
After gaining experience in this field, he made a successful switch to commercial photography, dedicating the past four decades to serving numerous prestigious companies as a commercial photographer.
In recent times, Richard has returned to his first love: painting, a passion he
has cherished since childhood. His artistic style has undergone considerable transformation throughout the years, yet his commitment to oil paint and equine subjects has remained unwavering.
Recently, he has begun experimenting with mixed media, allowing him to create layered compositions that are ultimately completed with oil paint. Based in Gloucestershire, Richard is currently engaged in producing exquisite works centred around the horse.
He prefers to clarify his thought process before approaching the canvas.
Once this is established, he dives directly into his artwork.
