Ije is willing to accept commissions

Ije (pronounced eejay)
I am a multidisciplinary artist whose sensuous practice spans painting, sculpture, and installation, rooted in transformation—of materials, bodies, and perception. A nomadic approach fuses personal memory, embodied movement, and material intervention, creating works that are extensions of the rhythms of my body: evolving sites of experimentation and energetic memory.

Found, re-used, and elemental materials such as wire, plaster, clay, pigment, textiles, glass, and swarf - become carriers of metaphor and memory, layered into tactile compositions that evoke concealment and revelation, containment and expansion.

A prolific maker, I work across several lines of enquiry concurrently. Predominantly self-taught, I gained an MA Fine Art in 2016 and held my first large solo exhibition in 2020 as winner of the 2019 Chameleon Arts Prize.

My pieces are held in corporate collections in the UK and China, and in private homes across the UK,
