Description

The lake in the image is Lough Murree, in the Burren, County Clare and is also known as Linn-ealla, which translates from the Irish to Swan Lake. The Flaggy Shore and the lake were the subjects of the poem Postscript, by Seamus Heaney.
Inspired by a walk along by the lake on a morning in late August, just as the sun was rising, I have tried to capture in the painting the magical and ever changing colours in the sky that were so clearly reflected in the waters of the lake.
