The Ruins' Mixed Media Landscape Painting
While visiting a National Trust heritage site recently, I came across some lovely old ruins. At the time I wasn't able to capture much on site as I was busy pottering about and hanging out with some friends but back at the studio I wanted to preserve the feeling of the visit. The history of these architectures are dubious and often negative but the good stuff is barely recorded and now their purpose has changed as they are preserved for a modern audience. Acknowledging the past, especially negative stuff is important but that's all you can do. You can't change it. What you can change is the now and the future.
