Description
This painting is inspired by sheer textiles/ veils worn by Indian village women. Traditional Indian women in villages wear thin veils when they are out and about. It not only keeps them cool in the intensity of Indian heat but also conceals them from the intensity of male gaze. I did the initial layers with oil paint. I worked in layers to get the depth into the canvas. Once I was happy with the
background I applied thin lines in red, yellow and green.
