Description
With a little help from his friends, at day break on 7th August 1974, the French genius Philippe Petit stepped out from the 110th floor onto a wire and walked between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre in New York. He passed across eight times, at one point pausing to lie on his back and at another, to hang by his heels, performing his amazing feat with a smile upon his face.
Some people, not many, will voluntarily take on the incredible balancing act of walking a high wire. Yet many people, without volunteering, find themselves upon a high wire, attempting some other impossible balancing act. If you are on a high wire and cannot raise a smile then I would say that it is high time to get down!
