Description
The Flaggy Shore in the Burren, County Clare, was the subject of the poem Postscript, by Seamus Heaney. I was inspired to make this painting after one of my many visits to this remarkable landscape. Heaney, with his great gift for words, describes it, in the final line of the poem, as a place that would "catch the heart off guard and blow it open".
