Description
This picture features a barn owl hovering over a field of grass, against a setting sun. The subtle shades of teal portray an early morning scene, the owl is peering fixedly down at some unfortunate vole in the tall grass, hoping for a meal before it gets too dark to hunt. It captures the beauty of this lovely bird, in a moment of stillness before it pounces.
This is a drypoint, printed from a hand engraved plate using traditional inks. This version is in orange, but there are also versions in teal. The process involved results in a small number of prints, each slightly different.
It is printed on an off white watercolour paper, mounted in a plain white and in a black boxy frame. The frame has both a stand and hanging fixings.
