Description

Reminding us of maybe an illustrated page in a book of old folk tales. Once the giant fish had been landed it was simply too big to do anything with, far too much to eat. No ice was available as it was summer and refrigerators had not yet been invented. Neither did the villagers have enough salt to preserve the fish. The giant carcass began to rot and to attract predators, which in turn began to threaten the villagers. Eventually the overpowering stench of the decaying corpse forced all the people to move from the village. It just goes to show that catching a big fish is not always a thing to be proud of.
