Description
The Iconic St Paul's Cathedral overlooks the hustle and bustle of the silver Thames.
Thames Lightermen relax for a minute or two's banter during the hard work of loading and unloading the barges. Close by, the wonderful rust coloured sails of the Thames barges and the old warehouses now long gone or converted into riverside apartments. Such wonderful times now just a distant memory.
Another aspect of this painting is the influence of the British artist L S Lowry. I have always loved his work and wanted somehow to pay tribute to him.
