Description

The underlying message of "Dreamstealers" speaks to the inherent disparity between human aspirations and the natural world.

Hannon's artwork reminds us that the objects we create, the desires we pursue, and the surfaces we tirelessly build are merely inconsequential trappings in the eyes of insects.

Their existence thrives in a parallel universe where our creations hold no meaning or significance.Dreamstealers is the digital remix of I organised my thoughts and they left me for a dream.

As I was working on the digital version, a fly landed on the painting. It just sat there, ignorant of the work that had gone into the painting. It didn't care.

This scene made me think. Nature doesn't care about art. Nothing matters to the fly or the wasp or the tree.

When I was creating the digital work I wanted to convey that idea. I used photographs of insects that I had taken in the past: the wasp when I was in Turkey and the fly from my back garden.

I added their images onto the piece, which brought a surreal edge to the whole composition.
