Description
Gold-breasted Fulvetta
This exquisite Giclée print captures the delicate charm of the Gold-breasted Fulvetta (Lioparus chrysotis), a tiny jewel of the Eastern Himalayas and parts of Southeast Asia. With its soft slate-grey head, bright golden breast, and finely textured plumage, this small passerine radiates a quiet yet captivating beauty.
The Gold-breasted Fulvetta inhabits dense undergrowth of montane forests, particularly favouring bamboo thickets and rhododendron stands. Despite its striking colours, it is a secretive species, often moving in small, fast-flitting flocks through the shaded lower canopy. Feeding on insects and small invertebrates, these birds play an important role in maintaining the balance of their high-altitude ecosystems.
Because of their shy nature and the remote habitats they favour, sightings of the Gold-breasted Fulvetta are considered a rare delight for birdwatchers, making them a treasured subject for art and study alike.
Printed with archival pigment inks on museum-grade fine art paper, this limited edition (150) Giclée ensures vivid colour and lasting detail. Each print is individually hand-signed and numbered by the artist, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Poetic Note
In mountain mist where bamboo weaves,
A golden breast among the leaves.
Fleeting shadow, soft and small,
A hidden treasure, known to few at all.
