This beautifully detailed artwork portrays the Coal Tit (Periparus ater), a small but spirited member of the tit family. In its natural habitat, the Coal Tit is a bird of the coniferous woods, mixed forests, and gardens of Europe and Asia. Agile and acrobatic, it flits restlessly among branches in search of insects, spiders, and seeds.
