Description

Coal Tit (male)

This beautifully detailed artwork portrays the Coal Tit (Periparus ater), a small but spirited member of the tit family. With its striking black cap and bib, crisp white cheeks, and soft grey-brown back with pale underparts, the Coal Tit is instantly recognisable. The artist has captured its delicate features and fine feather textures with precision, while the bird's poised stance on a slender branch reflects its alert and lively character.

In its natural habitat, the Coal Tit is a bird of the coniferous woods, mixed forests, and gardens of Europe and Asia. Agile and acrobatic, it flits restlessly among branches in search of insects, spiders, and seeds. Unlike many of its cousins, the Coal Tit often stores food in bark crevices or mossy nooks, caching supplies to survive the harsher months.
Though smaller than the familiar Great Tit or Blue Tit, it makes up for its size with a bold, energetic personality and a rapid, distinctive “pee-pee-pee” call.

Printed to museum-quality standards as a Limited Edition of 150 Giclée prints, each artwork is produced using archival pigment inks on fine art paper, ensuring vibrant colour and long-lasting quality. Every print is hand-signed and numbered by the artist, and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity for complete assurance of exclusivity.
Perfect for bird lovers, woodland art enthusiasts, and collectors of British wildlife, the Coal Tit print celebrates one of our most endearing and resourceful garden visitors.

Poetic Note
Among the pines, so small, so fleet,
A Coal Tit flits with wings so sweet.
Its song is quick, its spirit bright,
A woodland spark in morning light.
