Michael Hemming is willing to accept commissions
Michael uses structural and often geometric shapes to build his abstract paintings until they convey a strong image to the viewer.
Starting with initial marks based on sketches from the real world, he abstracts these in varying degrees until arriving at a pleasing composition. This is then further emphasized with more structural marks using a fluid mix of paint.
Michael uses high quality oil paints and favours both an aluminium and canvas surface which each give a slightly different result.
Michael's studio is located in Dorset giving him good access to the coast and countryside. An ideal base for painting directly from the elements and the coast which is his primary inspiration.
He has exhibited in Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire and has collectors in England, Australia and the U.S.A.
