Julian Court is willing to accept commissions


I believe every artist brings their own unique abilities, insights and ‘feel’ to their work, but I also believe it is essential to progress and grow by learning from others.

With that in mind I have sought tuition from several artists considered exceptional in their chose field, namely Mike Sibley (Dog Portraiture), Kelvin Okafor (Hyper-realistic portraiture) and Landscape Artist of the Year semi-finalist Philip Edwards.

“When you love doing something it always shows in the finished product”.
The ability to observe something, be it a dog, a landscape, a bird and be able to bring an interpretation of that to the paper is what excites me daily. I try to enhance my drawings by bringing something ‘else’ to what I see in the subject matter.

I love the way that charcoal and graphite can be manipulated using various techniques to reproduce and interpret what I see. For me using a pencil is much more ‘organic’ and free to say using paint. With my landscapes,
