Jo Wade was born in Manchester, studied & lived in Stoke on Trent, and is now settled with her family in Stratford Upon Avon. Her training is in Fine art painting, for which she holds an MA.
Mostly she works with oils and mixed media on cardboard, paper & canvas. Recently she has rediscovered etching, so now she prints a little too.
She likes to be experimental in her approach; enjoying mark making, printing, and the incidental. As well as continually aiming to be developing her thoughts and ideas.
Her work reflects the saying, ‘Time and tide wait for no man.’
This body of work uses the rhythms of the tide to mirror the momentum of time and its transience.
Since her graduation, Jo Wade has exhibited widely both as a solo artist and within a group.
