Garth Bayley is willing to accept commissions
I mostly work with oils because of how rich the colours are and how smooth the paint looks when you layer it with a brush and palette. My use of colour and light is inspired by my African heritage, which makes me want to use bright colours and show how things are in space.
I work with bold colours that show movement and form. My subjects are all over the place, from sports and dance to abstracted landscapes. My landscapes are based on how I feel when I’m at a place, and they often include old buildings or leftover stuff from people. I use my own experiences to make beautiful canvases that show both emotions and physical feelings. The main idea is to show my everyday experiences in a new way.
I get ideas from pictures in the media, life drawing, and my own photography. I work from sketches and directly from pictures, as well as painting outside.
