
Andrew Cheetham was born in Heywood, Manchester, in 1971.
He studied Art at Manchester Polytechnic, Liverpool John Moores University and Central St. Martin’s College of Art.
He lives and works in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, where until recently he had a studio in one of the old baiting sheds on the harbour.
He was selected as Artist in Residence at Knaresborough Castle in 2006 and in Rosedale Abbey on the North York Moors in 2009.
Andrew has been shortlisted twice for the ING Discerning Eye Drawing Bursary at The Mall Galleries in London.
He was featured in ‘Art & Yorkshire; From Turner to Hockney’, a major exhibition in 2014.
He has exhibited widely both locally and nationally and his work is held in private collections and the permanent collections of Scarborough Art Gallery and The Mercer Gallery, Harrogate.
Andrew was elected as a member of The Fylingdales Group of Artists in 2023.
