Janice Thwaites is a mixed media, installation artist. She uses a variety of materials relevant to whatever concept she is trying to convey. Photography is an important part of her practice.

Janice Thwaites is an MA Fine Art graduate from Winchester School of Art, The University of Southampton. She has exhibited internationally, with exhibitions “Angels and Mechanics”, an exhibition about fertility in the 21st century, “Dilemma”, a solo show dealing with the use of animals by humans, and where we draw the line as to what is acceptable, morally, and ethically, “Still Life” (Duvet Project) and “A place to Pray – A Place to Play” (Hot Air).

The current work to come out of the Thwaites studio is “Silent Music” This work deals with music rendered silent due to war and oppression, as well as more abstract considerations about the death of music.
